This columnist in the Hillsboro (Ohio) Times Gazette believes that the resurgence of bed bugs is the result of environmentalists overreacting to DDT.
He’s also gets a few nice punches into Rachel Carson, who as you know I have a rather different view of her — at least as far as this industry is concerned.

But bedbugs were among the first to show resistance to DDT. Is he alleging that they’ve mutated again to be susceptible to it? Wouldn’t it be nice if writers would check with entomologists and pest management professionals before heading off to their Jihad?

It would be wonderful if writers checked their facts before writing articles — but most don’t. I would recommend that PMPs develop relationships with their local reporters so that they know WHO to call should such a story come up. Well said.
